MAD is a South African based charity organization with its main focus on providing educational opportunities for academically talented children from less privileged circumstances. The Foundation was formed in July 2003. MAD stands for – “Make A Difference”. The whole idea around MAD is to join a circle of friends who share the same passion to make a difference in the lives of our South African youth, to get together and interact on a regular basis, have fun and to do something different. MAD is privileged to have Francois Pienaar as our chairman. The group currently consists out of twenty actively participating members (friends) - local businessman. As honoree members, we have David Kirk, Martin Johnson, Nick Farr Jones, John Eales and John Smit. The six World Cup Winning captains have combined their energy this time off the rugby field and pledged their support for MAD and to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged communities in South Africa.
